RED LIGHT is a feature film about the seedy underbelly of Human Trafficking. Queen Madam Loray and her crew, the 751 Crew, is always looking for ways to expand the business by adding new products, women, to their inventory. Some of the captured victims fight back to escape the clutches of the criminal circuit. Brianna Holloway is one woman that refuses to remain a victim. She is the ultimate RED LIGHT.
Queen Madam Loray and her crew take their human trafficking organization very seriously because it's more than just business -- it's their livelihood. Their main concern is expansion in any way possible, by any means necessary. But one thing they cannot stand is a victim, a product, that doesn't comply to the order and Brianna Holloway is one of those victims who does not take orders well. That is why she is the RED LIGHT.
RED LIGHT is a feature film about Human Trafficking Awareness that exposes the criminal activities of an elite organization run by the infamous Queen Madam Loray Davis (Karen-Waller Martin). Queen Madam Loray prides herself in always having the best products--girls--in her inventory and making sure that everyone knows it. She and her cousin, Elijah Davis, affectionately known as Pops (Alfonso Robinson), were brought up into the business by her late father, Moses. They have been grooming Queen Madam Loray's Godson, Jeremiah Gibson, known simply as Gibson (Hosea Brawley) for the illicit criminal business since he was a child.
Overall, the film illustrates just how these sinister characters and their entire crew led by Rob Stevens (Juante' Wilson), next in line under Gibson, routinely seduce and kidnap women on a day-to-day basis as a part of their normal way of business. The women captured by these dangerous people for human trafficking are held and used for prostitution, labor and underworld dark web slavery. They are sold to seedy businessmen and other criminal factions and their conglomerates.
The women in the movie are kidnapped in creative, modern-day tactics that the audience will be able to relate to. RED LIGHT will make the audience think twice about going to the ATM alone at night or walking in the parking lot alone while on their cell phone. RED LIGHT is a film in which, after viewing, the audience will remember to lock their car doors and remember to be aware of their surroundings as it is fast paced, and action packed. The film places emphasis on audience vulnerability when distraction is a factor. In RED LIGHT, distraction can prove as easy targeting for the traffickers, providing easy targets for the business.
The lead character, Brianna Holloway (LaVeta Cameron), a victim of the crew, gives them a run for their money. She and a few other victims that fight back or are considered troublemakers for the crew are given the moniker, Red Light. In this business a Red Light is a huge liability. They are defiant, combative, and just plain disrespectful and should be dealt with the harshest punishment according to Queen Madam Loray. Brianna is not spared physical abuse for acting out and trying to corrupt the others against her empire. Queen Madam Loray, Gibson, and Pops will fight to the end to ensure that no one comes between their business, their money, their legacy, or their women--not even the RED LIGHT.
It is the Writer/Director/Producer's goal with RED LIGHT to entertain the audience while simultaneously educating them on the importance of safety and being aware of their surroundings, even when they think they are safe, to prevent others from becoming victims to human trafficking.
Human Trafficking is modern-day slavery where criminal syndicates and unscrupulous individuals use or sell other people to profit and benefit from them. It is a multi-billion-dollar industry that does not discriminate against gender, age, status--no one is exempt, not even children. Human beings are exploited daily as these criminals feel that there is always someone for everyone to choose and make money from. It can be in the form of sex, labor, or whatever else the captors entertain.
No matter what capacity it is, human trafficking goes against the victims' will and they are coerced into doing what they are told through threats of violence and the issuing of forced narcotics. The abductors inflict fear into them, and they are aware of the consequences they will incur if they do not remain obedient. The victims' lives and the lives of their loved ones are also threatened.
Traffickers are not just typical bad people that get into trouble or are a part of gangs. They are also every day regular people, both men and women, that look like they live normal lives to the outside world. However, they can also be people in white collar professions such as lawyers, doctors, and politicians. They, too, invest in this business and partner with others so that they can all benefit financially or in other ways.
A Red Light is a code name given to a victim of human trafficking that is not easily broken in and does not do what she is told.
Many people do not realize how easily someone can get snatched, kidnapped, and thrown into the human trafficking circuit. This film depicts realistic abductions to show people how simple it can be for their lives to be changed forever.
